Thermal Ribbon
Thermal Ribbon, also known as thermal transfer ribbon, is a crucial component in thermal transfer printing technology. It is used in a wide range of industries and applications where high-quality, durable, and long-lasting printing is required.
The Thermal Ribbon consists of a polyester film coated with a layer of wax, resin, or a combination of both. During the printing process, the ribbon is heated by the thermal printhead, which transfers the ink onto the desired medium, such as labels, tags, or packaging materials. The heat melts the ink on the ribbon, and it adheres to the surface of the medium, creating a permanent print.
One of the key advantages of using Thermal Ribbon is its exceptional print quality. The wax or resin-based ink produces sharp, crisp images with high resolution, making it suitable for applications that require precise and readable barcodes, text, or graphics. Additionally, the use of thermal transfer printing ensures that the prints are resistant to smudging, fading, and scratching, resulting in durable and long-lasting labels or tags.
Thermal Ribbons are available in various formulations to cater to different printing requirements. Wax ribbons are ideal for general-purpose printing on paper-based materials, while resin ribbons offer superior durability and resistance, making them suitable for printing on synthetic materials, such as polypropylene or polyester. For applications that require a combination of durability and cost-efficiency, wax-resin ribbons provide a balanced solution.
